Skills Inventory

An internal project that I worked on at the ARC during my internship in 2000, which involved designing a database to track employee skills. The interface was a web-based solution built to be accessible to all employees via Netscape or Internet Explorer. Drawing on the web app skills I gained developing Bugsy, I applied the three-tier architecture design to the MS Back Office platform using the following tools:

The skills entry form consisted of a category, sub-category and then skills. Information gathered included skill level, interest level, exposure and whether training was requested.

This page shows a listing of my general employee information, a handsome photo, and a somewhat incomplete listing of my skills. Now that I'm not at the ARC anymore the email and phone number shown are not active.

This form allowed employees and managers to search the Skills Inventory for various skills. This allowed management to quickly determine staffing needs and for employees to seek out local "experts" and mentors.
